Max Gaede (29 November 1871 – 27 October 1946),〔(in German) (Senckenberg.de: Biografien der Entomologen der Welt )〕 was a German engineer and entomologist〔(.peabody.yale.edu )〕 of international fame who described several hundred of new species of lepidoptera, mainly African Noctuidae. He became a member of the ''Internationalen Entomologischen Vereins''〔(Entomologische Zeitschrift (Volume v. 13 (1899–1900)) )〕 in 1899 and Many lepidoptera species had been named after Max Gaede.
